HAL treatment for piles - Revolutionary technology.

Piles, also known as hemorrhoids, are swollen veins in the lower rectum and anus. They can be caused by straining during bowel movements, pregnancy, and a variety of other factors. Piles can be uncomfortable and painful, and can sometimes lead to more serious complications.

Traditionally, piles have been treated through a variety of methods, including over-the-counter creams and ointments, sitz baths, and surgery. However, an established technique (at least in advanced European Countries) known as DG-HAL (Doppler-Guided Haemorrhoidal Artery Ligation) has shown promising results in the treatment of piles.

DG-HAL also known as Trans Haemorrhoidal De-Arterilisation (THD) in some of the European Countries, is a minimally invasive procedure that is performed in an outpatient setting. It involves the use of a Doppler ultrasound to locate the arteries that are supplying blood to the piles. These arteries are then ligated, or tied off, using a small instrument called a hemorrhoidal ligator. This reduces the blood flow to the piles, causing them to shrink and eventually disappear. It is genuinely the true minimally invasive procedure which does not involve any cutting or burning of body parts. So practically a non surgical method.

One of the main advantages of DG-HAL is that it is a relatively quick and painless procedure. It typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete, and most patients are able to return to their normal activities within a day or two. The procedure is also associated with a low risk of complications, with most patients experiencing little to no pain or discomfort afterwards.

Another benefit of DG-HAL is that it is highly effective at treating piles. Studies have shown that the procedure has a success rate of over 90%, with most patients experiencing a significant reduction in symptoms after just one treatment. In addition, the procedure has a low recurrence rate, with fewer than 10% of patients experiencing a return of their piles after treatment. This procedure can be performed in cases where recurrence of piles has occurred after other surgical (Non DG-HAL) procedures. It is safe in all age groups and high risk patients also.

In addition to its effectiveness and low risk of complications, DG-HAL has several other advantages over traditional treatments for piles. For example, it also does not involve any incisions or stitches, so there is no risk of scarring or infection.

Despite the many benefits of DG-HAL, it is not the right treatment for everyone. The procedure is not recommended for pregnant women. In addition, the procedure is not widely available, as it requires specialized training and equipment. However, the citizens of Chandigarh and surroundings are lucky to have Dr. Harsh Kumar Aggarwal (MS - General Surgery), who has his clinical setup in Sector 40C by the name Tarini's Healthcare, where he treats the patients suffering from piles using DG-HAL procedure. He has all the latest and state of the art equipment to perform this specialised procedure. Dr. Harsh has done thousands of DG HAL procedures and has been doing this procedure for the last 15 years, with insignificant re-occurrence rates.

Overall, DG-HAL or THD is a safe and effective treatment option for piles that is associated with a low risk of complications and a high rate of success. So DG-HAL is worth considering if you are looking for a minimally invasive treatment that can provide fast and lasting relief from the symptoms of piles.
